SvitzerWijsmuller has the 12th of October 2006 entered into a letter of intent with Smit regarding an acquisition of Smit’s 50% interest in SmitWijs.

The acquisition will make SvitzerWijsmuller the sole shareholder in SmitWijs. Both shareholders agree that the transaction will put SmitWijs in a stronger position to deliver to the best possible service to the customers.

The SmitWijs fleet will continue to be operated with the current team of Dutch officers.
