
Friday 14th November, SVITZER Salvage BV was contracted to re-float dredger "Abigail H" , which sank on the 2nd November in the port of Heysham, United Kingdom. No personal injuries occured. A SVITZER Salvage team and portable equipment and were mobilised from the Netherlands on the 17th of November. Upon arrival the salvage team started the preparations to refloat the vessel which was settled onto the muddy seabed having a list of 20 degrees. In good co-operation with the owners, local authorities and the crew of chartered floating crane "Mersey Mammoth" the team successfully re-floated the vessel within seven days on the 25th of November.
