Container vessel with leaking cargo assisted

A large container vessel suffering dangerous cargo leakage from one of its containers contaminating further area's around it was assisted in the Black Sea during the period between the 13th and 19th of September. The vessel had been instructed to leave one of the Black Sea ports and was not allowed into other ports. Following intervention by amongs others a SVITZER Salvage chemical specialist and a salvage master a detailed plan of action was developped and accepted by all parties allowing port entry following which the situation could be resolved. |
