Svitzer further strengthens its operations in Americas

COPENHAGEN, 30 NOVEMBER 2020 – With increasing growth opportunities within terminal towage in the Americas region, Svitzer is strengthening its organisational and managerial set-up to be able to pursue these opportunities and grow accordingly in selected countries and ports by appointing Rutger Thulin new Managing Director for the Terminal Towage Cluster in Americas. The Terminal Towage Cluster includes Svitzer Americas’ operations in Canada, Peru, Costa Rica, Statia and the Bahamas.

Rutger Thulin comes with a proven track record from different management positions throughout his 14 years with the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group. He has been with Svitzer for seven years, and for the past four years, he has been Managing Director for Svitzer Brazil.

Commenting on the appointment, Arjen Van Dijk, Managing Director Svitzer Americas, said:

With more than 80 vessels operating in ports and terminals in 12 different countries in the Americas regions, Svitzer is heavily engaged in the region with harbour towage and terminal towage as the main market segments.
